T-minus 1 day

Wednesday, November 9, 2011 or the day before "D" Day in the house. This is what I am hoping to that I will be able to do a daily online journal as I begin the process of a stem cell transplant to be taken place in Seattle.

Packing and preparations are underway at home for the stay in Seattle. I have not packed yet as my energy has been underwhelming today. It seems to be a pattern with me that the day after being released from the hospital my energy seems to bottom out and takes me a day or so to rebound.

Wes will be meeting us in Seattle at SCCA (Seattle Cancer Care Alliance)for our next step in the process. Rumor has it that I will be admitted to UW to begin the next cycle of chemo.

Yesterday was bittersweet for the family. Saying goodbye to my 'girls' on the third floor who we have very fond of and consider family. Diane let them know that I was leaving and they were lined up to come in to see me and the family. There was lots of hugs, kisses and tears.

Holly and Toni, what a pair! They came by in the morning to see me before they left work. Holly had spent the night working and finishing a hat for me that she gave me before they left this morning. Toni, there is not much I can say more about this lady than I have said a many before on my facebook - truly one in a million.

We do not know what the journey holds but we are taking it ONE DAY AT A TIME as my dear husband Wes keeps reminding us.

“One day at a time--this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering.”
